Map Visualizations in Planning Analytics Workspace
IBM Planning Analytics Workspace (PAW) has provided a number of powerful visualizations that you can include in your workbooks. One of my favorite ones to work with is the Interactive Map. However, to get this visualization working properly there is a little bit of work that you need to do first.
You need to add a text attribute to the “}Dimensions” control dimension called “DIMENSION_TYPE”. You can do this either in Architect or in PAW. Once the Attribute is added type in the string value “GEOGRAPHY”. This will tell PAW when this dimension is used in a visualization that is should be used for location type visualizations.
The “DIMENSION_TYPE” attribute that you added here can further be used to define metric dimensions and various other dimension types if you chose to use this additional functionality in planning analytics.
